972 David Stockdale

Biography

Goalkeeper Stockdale joined City in November 2012, initially on a one month loan deal then for the remainder of the season that ended in promotion to the Premier League.  Stockdale performed reliably throughout his time at City.

Hailing from Leeds, Stockdale’s career began at York City making his senior debut at 17.  He then moved to Darlington at a time when the club was collapsing, and after two years he was picked up by Fulham.  He was an irregular in the Cottagers first team, spending several spells on loan, but spent six years with the West Londoners before joining Brighton in 2014.  He was Brighton’s first team keeper for three seasons, which ended in promotion to the Premier League.  The Seagulls did not retain his services in 2017 and Stockdale moved to Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham City.

Stockdale was twice included in England senior squads in 2011 and 2012, but was never capped.
