1047 Nouha Dicko

Biography

French born Mali international forward Dicko was signed at the end of the August 2017 transfer window to add goals to Leonid Slutsky’s new look City squad, having scored as a substitute for Wolves against the Tigers three weeks previously.  He made his (blameless) debut in a gruesome 0-5 shellacking at the hands of Derby County.  After a few iffy performances Dicko scored his first goal in black and amber during October 2017 at Norwich City.

Born in the Parisian suburbs, Dicko headed east to Strasbourg for his formative football years and scored regularly in Alsatian’s B team.  At the age of 19 he headed to England and signed for Wigan Athletic, and while his three seasons with the Latics saw little first team action for his parent club, he did complete some impressive loan spells at Blackpool (for whom he scored against the Tigers in 2012), Wolverhampton Wanderers and Rotherham United.  By 2014 Wolves were persuaded to part with three hundred grand to sign Dicko, for whom he amassed over 100 first team appearances and scored roughly a goal every three games.  By 2017 though Dicko was a more marginal figure in the first team thanks to the club’s serious investment in new players, and the move to Hull City duly arose.

Dicko’s parents hailed from Mali and he made his debut for The Eagles in 2014.
