1020 Markus Henriksen

Biography

Henriksen, a Norwegian attacking midfielder, joined the Tigers in August 2016 and played a peripheral first team role for boss Mike Phelan.  When Marco Silva took over the managerial reins Markus was quickly elevated to first team regular before a serious shoulder injury in the League Cup semi final at Old Trafford saw him miss three key months of the relegation battle.

Born in Trondheim, Henriksen began his senior career at Rosenborg before a two million euro transfer took him to the Dutch League and AZ Alkmaar.  During the next four seasons Henriksen carved a regular first team place at AZ, prior to his move to the Tigers.

Henriksen is a regular for the Norwegian international team, having made his senior debut in 2010, only two months after his first appearance for the Under-21 side.
