Scottish wide man Snodgrass signed for City in Autumn 2014. After making little impact in the Tigers’ stalled European campaign he suffered a serious knee injury during the first half an hour of his League debut at QPR. It was halfway through the following season when Snodgrass returned, at first gingerly but then with considerable effect during the club’s successful Championship play-off challenge. 2016/17 saw Snodgrass play a leading role for City, contributing goals from set pieces and open play with equal effectiveness.
Born in Glasgow, Snodgrass took a cautious approach in his younger days despite his prodigious talent. He turned down a youth team place at Celtic in favour of Livingston, for whom he made his senior debut at 16 years of age. It was rumoured that around this time Barcelona showed an interest in trialling Snodgrass, which he refused. By 2008 Snodgrass was an established first team starter and headed south to join Leeds United. After four impressive seasons at Elland Road Robert joined Norwich City in 2012, but two years later they were relegated from the Premier League at he signed for Hull City.
His form for City in the first half of 2016/17 season encouraged West Ham United to part with £10m to sign him, but in the first five months of his London Stadium career saw him struggle for form and goals.
Sondgrass played for Scotland at all youth levels and made his senior debut in February 2011 against Northern Ireland.
