1034 Sebastian Larsson

Biography

Experienced Swedish international midfielder Larsson joined the Tigers in early August 2017 after three months as a free agent following his release by Sunderland.  His versatility in central and wide positions makes him a valuable asset in a modestly sized squad.

Born in Eskilstuna, Sweden’s Steel City, Larsson spent his early years with local side IFK but was snapped up by Arsenal as a 16 year old.  He spent six years at Arsenal, making a handful of first team appearances, but needed a 2006 loan move to Birmingham City to establish himself as a senior player.  The following January he signed permanently for the Blues and spent four seasons overall at the St Andrews side.  In 2011 he joined Sunderland on expiry of his Birmingham contract, where he remained until joining City.  Larsson played in the League Cup Final while at Birmingham City and was a first team regular throughout Sunderland’s years of Premier League relegation battles.

Following numerous appearances for Sweden’s youth teams, from under-16 to under-21, Sebastian made his senior international debut in February 2008 and was a first XI regular for eight seasons, amassing 90 senior caps and six goals.
