976 Mohamed Nagy

Biography

Egyptian striker Nagy, commonly known as Gedo, joined the Tigers on loan in January 2013 to add goalscoring prowess to Steve Bruce’s successful promotion push.  He immediately scored goals and left a positive impression, but after the initial excitement his influence waned.  The following summer Gedo again signed on a season long loan but he failed to make any impression in the Premier League and played his last game in the first fixture of City’s FA Cup run that culminated in a Wembley final.

Nagy was born in Damanhur, on the Nile Delta, and started his career at his local team before joining Al Ittihad in 2005 and Al Ahly in 2010.  After his two loan spells at the Tigers, Gedo returned to Al Ahly for a few months before joining Cairo sides El Entag El Harby and then El Mokawloon.

Gedo scored an impressive 19 goals in his 37 international appearances for Egypt, the pinnacle of which was the winning goal against Ghana in the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations.
